• Directions of use:
  Preparation:
  - Clean the skin around your stoma with water and a soft cloth.
  - Pat the area dry. Do not use oil-based products as they may interfere with the adhesion of the skin barrier.
  - Please make sure you know the diameter of your stoma. Choose a STOMOCUR pouch that is the same diameter as your stoma.
  - If you need to cut the wafer of your pouch to fit your stoma use a good sharp pair of scissors.
  Be very careful not to increase the opening size past the outer ring marked on the wafer.
  - Make sure the opening you cut is not too large. An ill-fitting pouch can cause skin irritations and inflammation.
  - In order to compensate for any unevenness of the skin, you may use STOMOCUR skin barrier paste.
  - Apply this around the pouch opening or directly around the stoma.
• Filter:
  - Often there is a built-in filter in ileostomy and colostomy pouches, through which gases are neutralized and vented. If the gas flow rate through the filter is too low the pouch may balloon. This can be prevented by increasing the size of the venting hole.
• Filter Sticker:
  - The filter sticker serves as effective protection against moisture (e.g. when bathing, showering) and prevents the release of bodily gases. As an alternative, FOR LIFE offers filters made of Gore-Tex, which also protects against moisture, but allows the gases to vent out of the pouch.
