How to use SenSura 1-Piece Post-Op Drainable Bag?

1. Cutting - Trace the size and shape of the stoma on the stoma guide. Cut the hole in the adhesive to fit the size and shape of the stoma. To reduce the risk of leakage and skin problems it is very important that the hole in the adhesive fits perfectly around the stoma. Cutting is easier, if a curved pair of scissors is used. Ensure that the skin is clean and dry before you proceed with the application of your bag. If you have an open bag, please remember to close the outlet.
2. Removal of protective film - Place a finger on the tab on the adhesive and pull the release tab on the protective film away from the adhesive to remove the protective film.
3. Application - Place the adhesive around the stoma. To ensure a perfect fit around the stoma, bend the adhesive backwards, while pressing firmly against the skin, starting at the bottom and smoothing upwards with your fingers.
4. Removal - Take the tab on the adhesive and gently pull the adhesive away from the skin. Apply light pressure on the skin with your free hand, as you peel the adhesive downwards.
5. Removal of the outlet. For hospital use only. The bag is supplied with an outlet that can be used in connection with a drainage bag. The outlet tap can also be cut off, and the outlet can be closed by using a clamp.
6. Handling of the window – only for bags with window - Close the window by bending the lid so it covers the window and placing your thumb on the lid and the rest of your fingers under the flexible flange/ring, where the window is fixed to the bag. Move your fingers from the bottom to the top. The window will close with a click.
