Urostomy is a surgical opening in abdominal region to redirect urine from the bladder. The small opening made for the purpose is called a stoma. Urostomy is usually performed after accident, disease or a birth issue leading to bladder damage. A urostomy pouch is then temporarily attached to the stoma that has to be worn outside and changed when filled up.
